文山师专数理系从1984年正式成立以来，经过全系师生二十多年的共同努力，现已是学校较大具规模的系部。开办专业已由单一的主辅修制数理专业发展成数学、物理、现代教育技术三个学分制选修专业，目前在校学生人数700多人，共十五个班级。现与云南师大联办，办有数学、物理本科函授班。多年来，为文山州的各级中小学培养了近千名合格的中小学教师，现在大多数毕业生已成为所在学校的骨干力量。

我系教师具有深厚的专业理论功底和丰富的教学经验，现有教师37人，其中教授3人，副教授8人，具有研究生学历的教师11人，在读研究生教师有11人，我系先后派出多位教师到北京大学、北京师范大学、西南师范大学、复旦大学、云南大学及云南师范大学等省内外重点大学深造作访问学习。全系教学设备齐全，物理实验室共有力、热、电、光、原子物理、电工、电子技术、家电、中学物理教学法、数学物理仿真实验等实验室，固定资产达169万元。

在科研方面，我系教师积极开展科研活动，以科研促进教学改革，提高教育教学质量，在全系形成了浓厚的科研氛围。先后承担国家教委级课题、省级课题及州校级课题20余项。全系教师在核心期刊发表论文30余篇，出版专著2部，其它各类公开刊物上发表学术论文百余篇。数理系十分重视学生的创新精神和实践能力培养，从2000年起，组织学生参加全国大学生数学建模竞赛，取得国家级二等奖5项、云南省一等奖9项、二等奖和三等奖8项。物理专业组织学生开展有特色的自制教具活动，学生分获全国三等奖及云南省一等奖各一个，也得到了省、州、校的好评。数理系积极开展丰富多彩的校园文化活动，特别是在体育活动方面优为突出，连续三年均获得学校冬季运动会团体总分第一名，足球、兰球、排球都保持第一名。

数理系毕业生得到社会的认可，近几年来学生就业率都在95%以上。2006年先后被学校评为人才培养评估先进集体、优秀系党总支、先进教学部门、系党总支党风廉政建设三等奖等先进集体，06年毕业生就业指导工作三等奖，07年毕业生就业工作第一名。

数理系将在稳步发展师范教育的基础上，大胆探索，积极拓宽专业途径，不断增强办学实力，在学校以人才培养为中心的办学指导思想下，不断加强和培养学生的创新精神和实践能力，为地方教育振兴和经济、社会发展做出更大的贡献。

Department of Mathematic and Physics

The department of Mathematics and Physics, originated in 1984, is now a large department in Wenshan Teachers’ College after the 20 years’ construction. Many laboratories have been set up in the department, such as mechanics lab, thermotics lab, electricity lab, optics lab, atomics lab, electronic technology lab, domestic electric appliances lab, middle school physics pedagogy lab, mathematics and physics emulation lab. All the instructional apparatuses and equipment total over RMB2890000. The subjects have been expended from the past “Major-Minor selection system of Mathematics and Physics” to a “credit system of three specialties  that mathematics, physics and modern education technology”. There are currently over 700 students at the department. The department also cooperates with the relevant department of Yunnan Normal University in cultivating correspondence undergraduates of both mathematics and physics. For many years, the department of Mathematics and Physics has brought out over one thousand qualified teachers for the middle schools and primary schools in Wenshan, most of them are now the backbone teachers in their respective schools.

     There are 37 faculty members in the department, of them three are three professors, eight are associate professors, eleven are teachers that have master degrees, and also eleven others are still pursuing their master degree. Most of the faculties have been visiting scholars to some key universities in and out of Yunnan province, like Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Southwest Normal University, Fudan University，Yunnan University and Yunnan Normal University. By now, they have undertaken State Commission of Education, Yunnan province, Wenshan and the College projects for more the 20 items. They have published 30 research papers on key periodicals, 8 research papers were received by SCI and EI, and over 100 academic papers on other public journals, moreover, two monographs are also published by the faculty, and one teacher participate in compile two monographs.

     The department of Mathematics and Physics put emphasis on the cultivation of the students’ originality and practical ability. From the year 2000, the department started to organize the students to attend the National University students Mathematics modeling Competition, and won the national second prize for 5 times, provincial first prize 5 times, second prize 9 times, and third prize 8 times. The physics students are organized to take part in activities of self-making teaching aids, and they have got the national third prize and the provincial first prize respectively once. Besides, the department of Mathematics and Physics also organize various and interesting campus recreation and sports, and for the three consecutive years, the department team has won No.1 prize in the College Winter Sports meets. In football, basketball and volleyball mathes, the department teams always win the top positions. In recent years, the department has been awarded by the College as the Advance Department, the excellent Party Branch, and the Advanced Teaching Department. Also, it is entitled by the College as “the Model of improving the Party’s working style”, and “the Advanced Unit in guiding student’ job-finding”.

      The department will steadily develop the normal education, be bold in the education exploration, and be zealously add more specialties in the department, thus constantly strengthen the College’s running capacity. It take the personnel training to the central work, cultivate and promote the students originality and practical ability, so that the department can contribute more to the vitalization of the local education and the economy.
